Membership Fee Increase

By Patrick Bieser·August 21, 2026

Membership fee increase for Scouts.

We received this email from the Local Scout Office:

Dear Scout Leaders & Parents:

Effective August 15, 2026, Three Harbors Council’s annual membership fee will increase to $25 per youth member and $20 per adult volunteer. This represents an increase of $7 for youth members and $2 for adult volunteers. The council membership fee is in addition to Scouting America’s national membership fee which remains unchanged at $85 for youth members and $65 for adult volunteers. Both the national and council membership fees are paid together during the annual registration renewal process.

This infographic outlines the annual membership fees for all Scouting programs including Exploring. As an incentive to welcome new families during the fall recruiting season, Three Harbors Council will again waive the $25 council fee for all new youth joining online between August 15th and September 30, 2026.

Three Harbors Council remains committed to keeping membership costs affordable. However, like many not-for-profit organizations, we continue to face rising operating costs while several longstanding funding sources, including support from local United Ways, have declined or ended. This fee increase will ensure we can continue providing a safe, high-quality Scouting program for thousands of young people across our council. Even with this fee increase, Three Harbors Council's membership fee remains among the lowest of the Scout councils in Wisconsin.

Scouting America continues to offer leadership development, life skills, and year-round adventures at a cost that remains lower than most other youth activities. Thank you for your continued support and participation in the Scouting program
