Explain likely welding hazards and how to anticipate, prevent, mitigate, or lessen them

Show first aid/prevention for shock, eye injuries, burns, fume inhalation, dizziness, skin irritation, chemical exposure

Discuss general safety precautions and safety data sheets (SDS); explain SDS importance

Describe welding safety gear; present yourself properly dressed for welding

Explain and demonstrate care and storage of welding equipment, tools, and protective clothing

Explain welding, electrode, slag, oxidation; describe heat generation, filler metal, and atmospheric shielding

Name mechanical and thermal cutting methods; describe one, with an advantage and a limitation

List equipment components for two welding processes; give an advantage and limitation of each

Set up one welding process (regulators, clamps, cables, filler, settings); get counselor area approval

Sketch your initial on a metal plate; weld a bead following the pattern
