1Camping hazards, weather, and health and safety
1a Explain likely camping hazards and how to anticipate, prevent, mitigate, and respond to them
1b Discuss the importance of weather awareness and how to prepare if weather turns bad
1c Show first aid and prevention for common camp injuries/illnesses (hypothermia, frostbite, heat, dehydration, altitude sickness, insect/tick/snake bites, blisters, hyperventilation)
2Learn the Leave No Trace principles and Outdoor Code; write a personal/group plan to apply them on your next outing
3Make a written overnight trek plan; show your route on a topo map using a compass, GPS receiver, or GPS app
4Patrol organization for a campout
4a Make a duty roster with assignments for an actual overnight campout
4b Help a patrol or Webelos unit prepare for an actual campout (roster, menu, equipment, planning, camp setup)
5Clothing, footwear, and gear essentials
5a Prepare a warm- and cold-weather clothing list for overnight campouts; explain layering
5b Discuss footwear choices for different weather and why the right footwear matters
5c Explain proper care and storage of camping equipment (clothing, footwear, bedding)

8Camp stoves and menu planning
8a Explain safety procedures for propane and liquid fuel stoves and proper fuel storage
8b Discuss advantages and disadvantages of different lightweight cooking stoves
8c Prepare a camp menu with recipes and a food list; plan two breakfasts, three lunches, two suppers; discuss food protection
8d While camping, cook a breakfast, lunch, and dinner from your planned menu; at least one must be a trail meal on a lightweight stove
9Camping experience
9a Camp a total of at least 20 nights at designated Scouting activities/events
9bDo TWO: mountain hike (1,000+ ft gain), backpack/snowshoe/ski 4+ miles, bike 15+ miles, water trip 4+ hrs/5+ miles, snow camping, or a 30+ ft rappel
